The Bigger Picture on Mining Governance

This badge was awarded upon successful completion of the module “The Bigger Picture on Mining Governance”, which is part of the course “Integrating Environmental, Social, and Human Rights Protection into the Governance of the Mining Sector”, jointly implemented by UNITAR, UNDP and the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency. The module introduces big ideas and important concepts from relevant international instruments. It also introduces you to the 8-step mining cycle that we will use throughout the course. The mining cycle starts from the very first step of developing a national mining strategy all the way through to post-closure of mining operations.
